Your tour begins with a drive through the beautiful Rif Mountains towards Tetouan, also known as the White Dove City. Tetouan is renowned for its UNESCO-listed medina and charming streets. After visiting the town and the nearby Akchour waterfalls, you will continue to Chefchaouen, often referred to as the Blue Pearl of Morocco. This picturesque town offers stunning architecture with Andalusian influences and narrow streets filled with colorful shops and cafés. You’ll explore the old medina, including Outa El Hammam Square and the Kasbah, before spending the night in a traditional riad.
After breakfast and a bit of free time in Chefchaouen, the journey continues to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Meknes was once the capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail, and it features impressive 17th-century monuments, including massive gates, granaries, and palaces. After exploring Meknes, you’ll head to the nearby Roman ruins of Volubilis. This well-preserved archaeological site features ancient columns, mosaics, and archways. The day concludes in the historic city of Fes, where you will check in at your riad.
Today is dedicated to exploring Fes, the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco. Accompanied by a local guide, you will discover the narrow winding streets of the ancient medina, visit Al-Qarawiyyin University—the oldest existing university in the world—and explore the bustling tanneries. You will also visit the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), the Royal Palace, the Mellah (Jewish Quarter), and traditional Quranic schools such as Bou Inania and Attarine. In the afternoon, enjoy panoramic views of the city from the Merenid Tombs before returning to your riad for another night.
After breakfast, the tour continues south through the Middle Atlas Mountains.
