Your 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes begins with a morning departure across the stunning Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we stop to enjoy panoramic views of traditional Berber villages.
Our first highlight is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its role in movies like Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Game of Thrones. After exploring the site, we continue to Ouarzazate to visit the legendary Atlas Studios, where many international films were shot.
Next, we explore the Skoura oasis, known for its palm groves and hidden kasbahs. From there, we pass through the Valley of Roses in Kalaat M’Gouna before arriving at Dades Valley, where dinner and overnight stay at a local hotel await.
After breakfast, we drive through the picturesque Dades Gorges and continue to Tinghir, heading 15 km into the impressive Todra Gorges. Here, you’ll walk between towering canyon walls over 300 meters high, alongside a flowing river—perfect for photos and relaxation.
Next, we visit Touroug village, where you’ll explore a local Berber clothing cooperative, followed by a stop in Tinjdad. We then journey towards the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga.
In the afternoon, your camel trekking adventure begins. Guided by a local camel man, you’ll ride across the golden dunes to your desert camp. Enjoy a magical night under the stars with a traditional Berber dinner and music around the campfire.
Start the day early with a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, we begin exploring the Erg Chebbi Desert.
Our first stop is the village of Khamlia, where you’ll enjoy Gnawa music performed by locals with Sub-Saharan African roots. We then drive through the desert plains to visit the Mifis mines, followed by a visit to nomadic families living in traditional tents—an authentic experience of Berber culture.
For lunch, you’ll taste Berber pizza with a local family. Later, we explore the Sahrij salt lake (if visible, depending on the season) and the surrounding palm oases. After a full day of desert discovery, we return to your hotel in Merzouga for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we begin our return journey to Fes, passing through the historical town of Rissani, home of the Alaouite dynasty, where you can explore its lively traditional souks.
Next, we stop in Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, and visit the fossil museum. We continue to Aoufous oasis to enjoy panoramic views of its lush palm groves.
Our journey continues through the scenic Ziz Valley, the Tizi-n-Talghamt Pass (1,907 meters), and on to Midelt for lunch. Afterward, we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you can see the famous Barbary apes.
Before reaching Fes, we stop in Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” where you can visit the stone lion statue and admire the architecture of Al Akhawayn University. We then drop you off at your riad or hotel in Fes, marking the end of your 4-day desert adventure.
