Captivating 10-day Morocco tour from Tangier to explore the country’s most iconic cities, breathtaking landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. From the blue-washed charm of Chefchaouen to the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert, this itinerary takes you through Morocco’s imperial cities, including Fes, Meknes, and Marrakech. You’ll also visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, experience a camel trek in Merzouga, and wander the maze-like souks of Casablanca and Rabat.
After pick-up in Tangier, we begin your adventure through the scenic Rif Mountains. Our first stop is Tetouan, known as the “White Dove” and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We then visit the lush Akchour Waterfalls before continuing to Chefchaouen. Famous for its vibrant blue streets and Andalusian-Moroccan architecture, Chefchaouen is a photographer’s dream. Overnight in a local riad.
We travel through the countryside to reach the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, a well-preserved archaeological site. Next, explore the imperial city of Meknes, where you’ll visit Bab Mansour, the Royal Stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. The day ends in Fes, where you’ll settle into your traditional riad.
Enjoy a full-day tour of Fes el Bali, the oldest medina in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Al-Qarawiyyin University, Chouara Tanneries, Mellah (Jewish Quarter), the Royal Palace, and the Blue Gate. End the day with panoramic views from the Merenid Tombs. Overnight in Fes.
Today we head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”. Then we pass through Azrou, home to the Cedar Forest and wild monkeys. Continue via Midelt, Ziz Valley, and Erfoud, before reaching Merzouga where the Sahara adventure begins. Overnight in a hotel near the dunes.
Start with a tour of the Erg Chebbi region, visiting Khamlia village for Gnaoua music, fossil sites, and nomadic families. After lunch, your camel caravan awaits. Trek through the dunes at sunset to a desert camp, where you’ll enjoy dinner and live Berber music under the stars.
Catch a spectacular desert sunrise, then return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. Drive through Rissani and Erfoud, and continue to Todra Gorges, a haven for climbers with 300m cliffs. End the day in Dades Valley, known for its rock formations and kasbahs.
We head toward Ouarzazate, Africa’s “Hollywood,” to explore Taourirt Kasbah and the famed Atlas Studios. Next, visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar used in many films like Gladiator. Cross the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass into Marrakech. Overnight stay in the city.
A local guide will lead you through Marrakech’s top landmarks. Discover Jemaa el-Fnaa, Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and Majorelle Gardens. Explore the souks full of spices, leather goods, and traditional crafts. Overnight in Marrakech.
After breakfast, we drive to Casablanca. Visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Then head to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to visit the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and Chellah Necropolis. Overnight in Rabat.
On your final day, enjoy a scenic coastal drive to the artistic seaside town of Asilah. Wander through its peaceful medina adorned with murals and ocean views. We then return to Tangier, where your unforgettable 10-day Moroccan journey ends.
